Snow Storm in London

Monday was a hushed-out, white-out snow day. By far the most snow I have seen in London in the 11 years we have been here. Getting around was sloppy and slow, but–the Northern Line was solid. It seemed like the only line to be working normally. Today it was sunny and only a few snowmen still standing, but weather report for the week looks messy and cold again!

Marineland

Marineland has all kinds of fish and sea creatures as you might imagine. The Orca show is really great and they also deliver on sharks, dolphins and sea lions. It is a good day out–but go early as you can mobilize the crew. It can also get very hot so bring the lotion, hats and water.

Marineland is a big complex also offering Aquasplash (yes, expect to swim) and Frontierland type place which is good for toddlers.

Antrium Gardens

This is a quiet, almost hidden playground for toddlers. Swings, small slide and green area. Not too crowded and parents usually pretty friendly. Grab a latte on England’s Lane and wander up Antrium Gardens. There is also a small library across the street.

Hampstean Heath South End Playground

This must be one of the nicest playgrounds in London. Located on the South end of Hampstead Heath, just below Parliament Hill, this is a modern complete area for kids of all ages. In the warmer months there is also a Paddling Pool.

Of course this also means that this place is often crowded, but it is big enough to handle the melee and action of tons of kids and exhausted looking parents.

Nonetheless, top spot to hit with kids and also it is in the Heath, so many options on walks to/from this area.
